Impressions on the first day of the “Take Back Our Pavements” campaign from Richard Morgan, NSRA Chair.
A carefully planned and lawful protest began with a rota of residents, 15 at a time, standing on the pavements during peak congestion periods – 8:30 to 9:00am and 3:30 to 4:00pm – times when residents say they often feel unable to safely leave or access their own homes.
The North Shottery Residents Association (NSRA) is launching “Take Back Our Pavements” (TBOP), a new community campaign aimed at drawing attention to the growing road safety, air pollution and quality-of-life problems affecting Shottery – particularly during school-run periods.
