NSRA is a non‑political, volunteer‑led group, open to all residents of North Shottery, between Alcester Road and Evesham Road.
The North Shottery Residents Association (NSRA) exists to represent the interests of residents living in and around Shottery, with a particular focus on improving safety, accessibility, environmental quality, and overall quality of life within our community.
NSRA was formed on Monday 9 September 2024 in response to growing concerns about traffic conditions on Shottery Road, especially at school drop‑off and pick‑up times. Heavy bus traffic, commuter cut‑throughs, and limited road space have led to congestion, vehicles mounting pavements, near‑misses, and incidents that place pedestrians and residents at risk.

These traffic pressures also have a significant environmental impact. Shottery includes a conservation area with historic streetscapes and listed buildings that are particularly vulnerable to vibration, pollution, and visual intrusion from excessive and inappropriate traffic. Persistent congestion contributes to poor air quality, engine fumes, and noise, affecting residents’ health, damaging the historic environment, and undermining the character of the village.
Our aim is to provide a clear, collective voice for residents when engaging with Warwickshire County Council, Stratford‑on‑Avon District Council, Stratford‑upon‑Avon Town Council, schools, transport authorities, developers, and other decision‑makers. By working together, we believe the community can have greater influence on how traffic, development, and infrastructure issues are addressed in a way that is safe, sustainable, and appropriate for Shottery.
North Shottery Residents Association seeks to:
- Improve road safety for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers
- Reduce congestion and inappropriate through‑traffic
- Protect Shottery’s conservation area, historic buildings, and village character
- Improve air quality and reduce pollution from stationary and slow‑moving traffic
- Ensure promised infrastructure, such as the Shottery relief road, is delivered
- Share information and keep residents informed
- Represent local views in a constructive, evidence‑based way
NSRA is a non‑political, volunteer‑led group, open to all residents of North Shottery, between Alcester Road and Evesham Road. Our strength comes from community involvement, shared experience, and respectful dialogue.
